Problem & Insights
Millions of people struggle with mental health but lack access to simple, stigma-free resources. Many websites are either overly clinical or not engaging enough to retain users. EternalEase was created to bridge that gap.
Key Challenges:
- Lack of centralized, easy-to-navigate mental health resources
 - Overly complex or text-heavy websites
 - Little support for interactive, calming tools (like breathing exercises or journaling)
 
Discovery Process:
- Spoke with 15 students, 5 counselors, and 10 young professionals
 - Audited government and private mental health websites
 - Gathered UI/UX trends that reduce cognitive load and anxiety triggers
 
Design & Key Features
We chose a soothing color palette, clean typography, and large buttons to ease user anxiety. The content is structured to feel friendly and digestible.
Core Features:
- Interactive breathing timer and journal prompt generator
 - Educational mental health resources in plain language
 - Calming animations and dark mode toggle
 - Scroll-based transitions using AOS.js for engagement
 
Design Tools:
- Figma for wireframes and page flow
 - Icons from Ionicons and Font Awesome
 - Color tested for accessibility compliance (AA/AAA contrast)
 
Security & Privacy
Although EternalEase does not store personal data, we maintained ethical design by:
- No login or user tracking
 - No analytics scripts or third-party trackers
 - Resources link directly to trusted organizations (NAMI, CDC, etc.)
